Beginners Yoga Therapy for the Mind

This 6-week Yoga Therapy beginners’ course for the Mind is an introductory into how we apply yoga therapy to help cope with stress. The course overview will be guided by the first two limbs of yoga, the Yamas and Niyamas (ethical principles) with an educative approach there will be a brief introduction to the stress response and the relationship stress has on our Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). Particular pranayama practices will be taught to measure heart rate variability and bring the ANS into balance giving you the autonomy to take control of your stress levels. Structural alignment on foundational postures will support your practice along with beginner’s meditation.
This course is suitable for those who want to start either a yoga practice or discover more about how yoga can impact on one’s mental and emotional health. After completion of the course options are available to attend a Vinyasa Flow yoga class or to delve deeper into the Yoga Therapy 8-week course for anxiety and depression.
